Spring is upon us and so is the annual spring cleaning. Many of us still have to remain in quarantine and have some extra time to things like reorganizing their closets.

In this blogpost, I’m sharing some tip’s on how to organize your closet like a store.

I curated my favorite girly and feminine picks for your closet. If you click on the items, you’ll be directed to the products.

1. Decide your color scheme

The first step is, to find a color scheme thats suits your style. Which colors look the best on you and which ones are outdated?

2. Go through each item

When you choose to redo your closet, just take everything out and lay it on the bed, go through each area and decide, which items you could imagine yourself rocking after quarantine and those long home office days.

3. separate your clothes into bins*

Next step is to separate your clothes into bins.
1. For dirty laundry
2. For donation
3. To trash

The things you are going to keep, can be saved in your bed for now.

4. Clean your closet*

Now you can deep clean your closet. Perhaps hang up something agains moths and consider getting some covers for your expensive suits and dresses.

5. replace the knobs*

For an ultimate store looking closet, you could change out your knobs.

6. Get some boxes *

Store some items into boxes.

7. get matching hangers*

My favorite thing when I organize closets is, to use all matching hangers or at least hangers in the same color.

8. color coordinate your clothes

The final step is, to color coordinate your closet. It makes everything so much easier and it also looks very put together.

For me, organization is a way of motivating myself, that there are better times ahead and I can look up to a great future and everything that will come along.

We all know this woman, the woman who seems like she has everything together and looks effortlessly beautiful.

Let me tell you.. women who look like that, take a lot of time to look that gorgeous. But I mean isn’t it totally worth it?

If you would like to become a woman like that, these 9 secrets are for you!

1. Get some you time

The first secret is to take some time for yourself. Perhaps take a bath or go to a sauna to relax your body. What’s also important is, that you get enough sleep. Nobody likes wrinkles under their eyes.

2. Start a beauty routine

The next secret is the beauty routine. It’s crucial that you have a routine to take care of yourself. Perhaps use some self-tanner on a regular basis and exfoliate your skin.

My ultimate tip is, to book facials every now and then. It’s so relaxing and your skin will definitely thank you for it.

3. Find your colors

What’s really important is, that you know the colors which look amazing on you. Some women like neutral and black colors and other prefer more colorful items. It’s all about your preference and in which you feel most confident in.

4. Splurge something new and redo your closet

The next point is, that you should go through your closet and look if you really love all the items that you own. With fast fashion going on, it’s normal that style changes. Try to have some classic items, that won’t go out of style for along time. And perhaps splurge something new, that you are totally in love. Clothes are such a statement. You know what they say? You are what you wear.

5. Put on some make-up

Make-Up is always a must. I can really recommend the no-make-up make-up look though! Therefore you will not look like that you even wear make-up. And for the days that are more special I can highly recommend to put on some fake-lashes. The single ones, can really do the trick and can make you look so beautiful. Another great thing is lipliner, so your lips appear a little bit more full.

6. Invest in your hair

What can be more important than to invest in a great hair stylist who will not ruin your hair? To find a great hair salon is so so so important! I can not say this enough. And of course it is also necessary to purchase great products for your hair and to take care of it. I swear on Olaplex Nr.6 for gorgeous looking hair.

7. Buy the things for yourself

Did you ever walk past by a lingerie store and thought it’s so beautiful but why should I buy it? Well for YOURSELF! There is something about the pretty things, that you feel like you could run the world. I highly recommend every woman to only purchase beautiful underwear and bras. Your life is too short for ugly things.

9. Have a workout routine

And the last secret is, to have a consistent workout routine, so your body looks toned and you are healthier.

How to decorate in pink for Christmas with things you already own

Are you looking for any inspiration on how to decorate for Christmas but don’t want to spend any money on new decor?

I’ve got you covered!

In this blogpost, I’m sharing my tips and tricks on how I decorated with things I’ve already owned in pink.

Christmas doesn’t have to be red and green!

Use things you already have

First, go around at your home and check for all the pink things, you could use as decor. I’ve looked in my basement and found an old bowl and empty shoeboxes. The ‘presents’ you see in the pictures, are all empty shoe boxes. Furthermore I’ve used old tissue papers, put them into plastic bags, put ribbon and stickers on them. Moreover I’ve used tissue paper as wrapping around my fake flowers. A cute detail I’ve came up with, is to use champagne glasses and to put them upside down. Now, they can be used, as a candleholder. Also, I’ve placed cookie cutters, inside the glass.

Enjoy a pink Christmas!

Here you see an overview on how the ‘fake presents’ turned out.
Another thing I did was that I hang socks from Victoria’s Secret on a string and placed old bags underneath. On top are the wings from my blogpost ‘How to look like a Victoria’s Secret Angel for Halloween’.

16 spots where to fall in love with Chicago – ultimate travel guide

Are you planning a trip and looking for an awesome American city?

What about the windy city Chicago?

As a foreigner, I’ve spent 2 weeks as an exchange college student there.

If you are interested to get to know my 16 places, where I fell in love with this city, keep on reading.

I’ve been to the U.S. several times and graduated high school there. Therefore I’ve seen various different states but Chicago is just something else.

1. Explore downtown

You first place to get to know the city, should be downtown. All of the skyscrapers are just breathtaking.

2. Go Shopping

Chicago downtown has thousands of shopping opportunities. From Target, to Urban Outfitters, there are shops for everyone. I remember, that I’ve spent 2 hours, just at Victoria’s Secret, because it was the largest one, I’ve ever been to.

3. The Bean

Your next step should definitely be ‘The Bean’. Pretty sure, you’ve seen this one in plenty of movies.

4. Grab some amazing food

The restaurant possibilities are endless in downtown Chicago. I can highly recommend the ‘protein bar & kitchen’ for the ones who like to eat something healthy and the ‘Cheesecake Factory’ for the fast food lovers.

5. Take a look at the Flamingo Statue

Ever seen a statue like that? The flamingo statue is huuuge and totally worth a visit.

6. Be amazed by the historic architecture

On my trip, we’ve visited some old American banks. So many gold details!

And the ceilings are so high in those buildings.

If you are interested, you should consider booking a tour to take a look inside these amazing buildings.

The history of the city and the old architecture are amazing.

7. Water Taxi on the Chicago River

Want to do something unique?

What about taking a water taxi on the Lake Michigan?

You’ll get an amazing view on downtown Chicago.

There are different destinations were you can get off the water taxi.

8. Go to a museum

On my trip I’ve visited so many museums in Chicago.

My favorite one was the ‘Field Museum’ where you can see a skeletons from real a dinosaurs.

9. Navy Pier

Wanna go on a ferris wheel? Navy Pier is super cool to see the skyline of the city. Also, there is an amazing food court.

10. Hop on a subway

The public transportation in Chicago is very good. You can easily get anywhere by using the subway. Depending on the hours, it can be a little bit stressful.

11. Lama Wall at Chopo Chicken

Have you ever seen a wall like that?

Totally Instagram worthy to pose in front of!

And the food at Chopo Chicken is so amazing! Super healthy and delicious. Went there several times.

12. Lincoln Park Neighbourhood

Our hostel was located in the Lincoln Park Neighbourhood.

And doesn’t the houses look super nice?

Plenty of cool architecture to discover and also lots of shops near by.

13. Lincoln Park Zoo

You will not believe this, but this zoo is totally free!

Located in the Lincoln Park, you can see animals like flamingos and zebras and get a nice view on the city.

Totally worth one or more visits!

14. Lake Michigan

Starting from the Lincoln Park, you can walk on the waterside directly to downtown Chicago.

Since Chicago has it’s own beach next to the Lake Michigan the possibilities are endless from yoga to renting a bike. You can do just so much.
We even played beach volleyball on our trip, ate water melon and swam in the water.

15. Willis Tower

Pretty sure you’ve seen this place somewhere on the internet. The Willis Tower with it’s famous glass floor is an ultimate must for cool photos and a view, you’ll never forget!

16. The Signature Room

MY HIGHLIGT

And lastly, my highlight on my trip and probably from many other people, is the ‘Signature Room’ in the John Hancock Center. You can either eat at the restaurant lounge at the 96th floor or get something to drink on the 95th floor. The view was just the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life. We watched the sunset, drank some nice cocktails and ate crème brûlée. Just the place to be!

Healthy glutenfree and vegetarian meal ideas, when you can’t cook

Are you annoyed about what to eat, when it comes to glutenfree food?
Don’t worry! In this blogpost I summed up my favorite and go to healthy glutenfree and vegetarian meals, when you can’t cook.
I feature some links to products and restaurants in this post, so you can find the product instantly.

Sushi

A simple food decision that is healthy and absolutely delicious, is Sushi. There are so many veggie options out there. Just keep in mind, that the soy sauce has in most cases gluten in it. So be prepared to bring your own sauce.

Cooked vegetables

A very healthy option, also for the vegans out there. Black beans are very great veggie to eat with salad or other veggies. When I go out to eat, I often order a plate full with cooked veggies, even when it’s not on the menu. Just get creative with your favorite veggies and try them together.

Sweets

My most loved sweet of all times, are macarons, because there are glutenfree to begin with. A lot of chips are also glutenfree naturally, because there are just made out of potatoes with nothing added to them.

Glutenfree Burgers and fries

It’s not that common, but there are places out there, that serve glutenfree burgers like Friends&Brgrs in Hamburg. Just take a look at Trip Advisor or Yelp, to find a place near by, which serve glutenfree buns. Moreover I love to make burgers myself. Just purchase glutenfree buns at your local store and look out for patty options. I love black-bean burgers! I can really recommend the one from Alnatura. When it comes to fries you have to be careful and always ask the staff or even the chefs, if the fries are glutenfree. Plenty of them aren’t. My favorite type of fries are sweet-potatoe-fries and cheese-fries.

Bowls

Bowls are such a win for people who can’t eat gluten. Even Taco Bell sells a bowl, with the same ingredients which would be in a burrito. Btw, for burritos go with burritos out of corn! When it comes to the ingredients you will need to read the ingredients, to make sure, that there is no hidden gluten inside. But most of the times, bowls are a great choice!

Cereal

Not so healthy, but delicious! Glutenfree cereal can be SO expensive. I can recommend going with cereal out of ‘rice’, so there is no particular gluten in it. For the Americans out there, I love the Honey, Nut Cheerios. Also plain cereal out of corn, is mostly also glutenfree.

Pancakes

There are so many options out there to make glutenfree pancakes. My alltime favorite flour is the one from Rewe. A little trick of mine is, to mix a banana into the flour. It will sweeten the it and you won’t have to add sugar into it.

Designated glutenfree food

The food marked is expanding a lot these days with the glutenfree food. Every now and then, you will eventually spot a new jam to eat. Especially in Germany, there are not that many options yet, if you can’t eat gluten. Schär is the most common brand and does offer a variety of food options

What about dressing up as one of the iconic Victoria’s Secret Angels?

Victoria’s Secret is representing way more, than lingerie and underwear.

If you would like to get some costume inspo, keep on reading this post.

1. Do your hair & make-up the classic VS style

What screams more a Victoria’s Secret look, than a middle parted – soft curled hairstyle?
For the make-up, I would recommend sticking to a bronzed, but neutral look. Put on some false lashes, line your lips and put some highlighter on. You could even add glitter to your body.

2. Choose your outfit & get wings *

Now it’s time to choose your preferred look and decide for some wings. There are so many different styles out there. I’ve purchased mine from party stores. The set with the halo, costed me 10€ in store.

The runway look

The ultimate look we all have in mind, is the lingerie one. I would not recommend wearing that anywhere else, than your home, though.

The comfy look *

What about getting a comfy rope and put your wings over that? Still totally Victoria’s Secret!

The sweet look

I bet everybody of you, has some kind of a white dress in your closet to use for your costume.

Covered up - but still beautiful look *

If you live in a cold climate like myself, I would recommend to put on a long sleeve under your dress and to cover up a little bit more. You’ll still look beautiful!

3. Feel confident and rock your wings

When you decided for your favorite angel look, it’s time to feel confident and rock your wings.

Therefore everbody will know, that your represent a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

How to make a beautiful balloon garland by yourself

Are you looking for a great DIY or an idea on how you could decorate for a party?

What about making your own balloon garland?

If you would like to get more details on how to build a stunning balloon ceiling, this blogpost is for you!

1. Purchase your balloon ceiling kit and a pump

To begin with this project you have to purchase a balloon ceiling kit. I bought mine at my local party store in our mall. They had a huge variety on colors and sizes. It was about 35€, so pretty pricey. The kit I used had 160 balloons, so if you don’t end up using all of them, you will have plenty to decorate with, for future parties. It’s crucial that you also purchase a pump, because the balloons will be filled up with air and not with helium.

2. Lay out all of the goods

Next take a look on all of the pieces, that are included in the bundle. I recommend to get some parcel tape, to tape the garland to the wall. But you’ll have to be very careful, to not ruin the wall! My bundle included small and larger balloons in different pinks and whites filled with copper confetti elements (which can get very messy, if the balloon will end up popping by accident). My bundle also included some copper tassels, which I didn’t end up using.

3. Start filling up the balloons

The obvious part about this project is to fill up the balloons. I would highly recommend to do this step with a friend and not like me all by myself. Even though I used a balloon pump, it got very hard to fill up nearly hundreds of balloons and to put a knot in them. Later I’ve used some clothes to protect my fingers, because they’ve started to bleed and got very swollen. So the more helpers you will have, the less injuries will happen Just want to keep it real, that this project takes time and motivation!

4. Keep on going!

Here you can see how the different sizes and colors of the balloons looked like filled up.

5. Hang the balloons on your ceiling

When you reached your preferred amount of balloons, then you can put them through the howls of the garland. I used a pencil, to push the knots through. When the garland is filled to your liking, it’s time to hang them up. How I previous mentioned, I’ve used parcel tape nearly after every 4 balloons, so the garland was really secured to the ceiling. Someone who helps at this process would be recommended.

The result

Yay, we have made it! I’ve used one garland over my bed and one hanging over my office space and birthday table. Especially with lighting, it looks so beautifully.

In this post I’ll list my all time favorite drinks and snacks from Starbucks. Starbucks has plenty of things to offer, not only for coffee lovers.

The hot coffees

The ultimate Starbucks drink is of course, a hot coffee. I can recommend the Caramel Macchiato. And the Vanilla latte is also very delicious.

Iced Caramel (Cloud) Macchiato

my favorite

I can not recommend this drink enough. For the ones who like cold and even iced coffee, this one is just an amazing coffee with a sweet taste.

Winterpunsch

Every Winter I’m hoping that they have some kind of Winterpunch. Which is a non alcoholic sweet tasting punch. And sometimes they have this drink on sale for like 2€ for a venti size.

Mocha Frappuccino

This is a very sweet version of coffee. If you like coffee with cream, this one could be the one for you.

Strawberry Frappuccino and Strawberry-Banana Milkshake

If you are a fan of the strawberry taste, this drink is an amazing choice. Very refreshing for a hot summer day.

The Strawberry-Banana Milkshake is a great drink for every time of the day. I can highly recommend it. It’s one of my ultimate favorite drinks from Starbucks.

Refreshers and Iced Tea

The refreshers and the iced teas are a great alternative for the ones, who don’t drink coffee.

Protein boxes

Every time I have been to Starbucks in the US, I’ve grabbed one of these boxes. Great box for breakfast or as a snack in the afternoon!
They are called the ‘Protein Boxes’ because they contain a lot of protein that is good for your body.
Unfortunately they don’t sell these boxes in Germany.

Healthy Lunches

If you look for some lunch options, Starbucks might be the place to try. They carry salads, fruits and even fully vegan meals.

Are you looking for any tips on how to finally start to love working out?

Then these tips are for you!

Working out is not for the looks, but for your health and well being.

Remember – it’s all about the feeling, not the appearance.

When you manifested that into your mind, you are all set for my life changing tips.

1. Believe in the things you can accomplish

Don’t think that you are not capable of accomplishing your fitness goals. It’s normal that results take time, sometimes years but keep on believing in yourself and the amazing things your body can do.

2. Don't compare yourself to others

Don’t compare yourself to others, especially to fitness models who’s job it is, to workout every day. It’s normal, that you’ll probably will not have the time, to work out every day and that’s totally fine.

Everyone crushes their goals differently and at their speed. Don’t get intimidated by others. You are you and your body will get in shape. Just love your own body and results.

3. Get yourself some beautiful clothes and workout gear

My next tip is, to purchase beautiful workout clothes in which you feel absolutely stunning. When you feel beautiful from the inside, it will motivate you to push yourself.

4. Explore the best space for your workouts

My next ultimate tip on how to start to love working out is to find a space, where you feel comfortable to work out at.

If the gym is not for you, that’s totally fine! There are many more places where you could workout.

Start to ask your friends for recommendations and look up some great areas in your town.

Moreover your workout place will depend on which sport you are going to practice. Right now in the summertime there a options to join an outdoor activity group. Perhaps you could do a course at the beach.

5. Find your inner peace

Have you ever tried doing Yoga? It’s a total game changer to find your inner peace. Another great option you could do is meditation. Why is it important you ask? Well, you will practice breathing technics and will listen to your mind and body. It will help you to let go and to relax.

6. Smile while working out

Trust me on this one! When I was a dancer, my dance teacher always told us, to keep smiling, even then we were in pain. It will do something with your mind and will trick your brain to love working out!

7. Keep going

It sure is easier said than done but it’s worth it!

When it comes to working out you have to continue doing it, otherwise you will not see the results you want to see.

In my experience, when you begin to see, that your body and well being changes, that will motivate you so hard to keep going and to stick with your workout.

Try to change up your workout routine every now and then, because it should give you joy to workout and not feel like a shore that you will have to do over and over again.

8. Be proud of yourself

And lastly, be PROUD of yourself. You are doing amazing sweetie!

Review about the Fujifilm Instax Mini 11

Do you want to know, if the ‘Fujifilm instax mini 11’ is worth the price to create instant polaroid pictures?
In this post, I’ll share my experience about the hyped camera.

How much does it costs?

The Fujifilm Instax mini 11, retails around 79€-109€. So look out for sales. What makes the camera pricy, are the polaroid films. Most often, one picture costs 1€. In addition I purchased a matching case for 15€.

How does the technology work?

The camera style is pretty simplistic. It has 2 buttons. One for pushing the lens out and one for taking the pictures. The camera always photographs with a flash – so better be careful where you decide to use it. What makes the Instax mini 11 so great is, that it has a selfie mode – when you pull out the lens to it’s maximum. Next to the lens is a tiny mirror, where you can check your reflection. You can’t zoom with this camera, therefore you can’t really photograph things that are far away. But selfies – which are an arm length, turn out pretty good. Moreover the camera comes with two batteries. For every 10 pictures you take, you have to change the film. On the back of the camera is a tiny round space, where it tells you, how many empty films are available. For the ones who get easily confused with camera settings, on the Instax mini 11, you don’t have to adjust any lighting settings. The camera does it all automatically for you. How I said, it’s all pretty simple. The Instax lens has 60mm and the focus range is 0.3m~∞. Also the camera is super lightweight.

How did the polaroids turn out?

Here you can see how my first attempts of polaroid photography turned out. The colors were pretty light and cool, people appeared lighter, than they are. I found it difficult to focus on objects, it takes practice.

Are there alternatives?

In my view, if you photograph a lot, there are cheaper alternatives out there, to get polaroid pictures – like purchasing a polaroid printer. So you can make photographs on your phone and print them per click out with the printer.
You can purchase the printer in plenty of stores and online-shops which sell technology.

I can also recommend to order pictures on apps like ‘Lalalab’ in polaroid forms.

My final conclusion

The Fujifilm Instax mini 11 is for everyone, who takes sharp pictures not to seriously and loves capturing memories when going on vacation, with friends, boyfriend or at family events and is happy with imperfect-fun pictures. In stores like Urban Outfitters you can purchase different polaroid frames, which are always fun. I can say, that I’m totally in love with my camera and happy with it and I would never give it away.

Since gatherings and birthday parties outside with a group of people, are not allowed for a while, I thought it would be a great time, to give you some inspiration how to throw a perfect birthday party at home.
Since I was a little girl, I always had motto parties or parties with a theme. For me, it’s the best day of the year and it should be for you too!
It’s always so sweet when friends or family throw a party for you and decorate, but you could do that for yourself as well, therefore you could decide whatever theme you like.

When you are all set with your preparations, it’s time to write down some at home activities and games, which you could to in a small group.

One idea is, that you could fill up balloons with little post-it’s, on which you write a question or an activity someone has to do, when they stab the balloon and read it out loud.
My second idea is, to put on little hats, wigs and glasses and do a photo-booth challenge.
Moreover, you could make a movie marathon, with your favorite movies from your childhood.
Another great activity would be, to hold a baking contest for cupcakes. Later on you can all taste them together and decide – which one is the best.
Finally, you could play a playlist with your all time favorite music and dance together.

I hope you make the best out of this time. Stay positive and be open to try out new ideas.
