6 incredible thrifted items you can DIY with spray-paint to create an art gallery wall

Are you searching for any DIY’s during quarantine times? I’ve got the perfect idea for you.
What about creating an art gallery wall, with old frames and spray them into metallic colors – like copper, rosegold and gold?
For this DIY I’ve went several times to my favorite thrift store and bought matching frames and two mirrors.
As spray paint colors I’ve purchased the bottles from the brand: ‘Baufix’ (Copper & Gold) and also from the brand ‘Edding’ (Rosegold).
Used products *
1. Golden mirror
The first thing I’ve spotted at the thrift store was this old mirror. The white already turned yellowish – therefore I’ve decided to spray paint the mirror into gold. It looks super luxurious.
2. Golden frames & candle holder
I’ve already owned the candle holder and the silver frame to begin with, but didn’t use them, because I’m not into silver. Now they look really cohesive and pretty.
3. Polaroid Canvas & Motivational Mirror
For the left DIY, I glued wrapping paper onto an old canvas and put a polaroid in the middle.
The right DIY is kinda like scrapbooking. Just use old postcards, stickers, paper-plates and polaroids to create a stunning motivational mirror.
4. Copper & rosegold frames
For this DIY I’ve used 3 different frames with a set of 2 and spray painted them rosegold and copper.
5. Copper mirror
I’ve bought this old mirror out of wood for only 2,50€ from the thrift store. Now it shines in a gorgeous looking copper color and works as my center piece at my art gallery wall.
6. Re-evaluate an art piece
Another idea you can do is, to look out for your favorite art pieces and give them a new shiny look. I’ve screamed out of excitement than I’ve found this print from Van Gogh. Doesn’t it look so beautiful?
Now - Combine the pieces and hang them up
You’ve seen all of my DIY’s, now it’s time to lay them out and hang them up to create an amazing art gallery wall. In the end, I didn’t end up using all of them. But that’s totally fine, they will find another great spot at my home.
The result
This is how I ended up putting the frames and the copper mirror together.
I hope you liked my post and will go to your hardware store and purchase some spray paint bottles. Just keep in mind to wear a mask and gloves when doing the spraying. Moreover do it outside, because the smell is really toxic.
I did this DIY over a month time period, don’t rush yourself and just have fun with it !
