4 ways on how to thrift a designer purse
Hey beautiful ♡
Did you ever crave purchasing a designer bag but you just can’t afford it?
What if I tell you, that there are ways you can buy a designer handbag for the fraction of the retail price?
In this blogpost I’ll show you 4 different options to become a lucky owner of a designer purse.

1. From ebay
My first recommendation to purchase a designer bag secondhand is, to look at ebay. These steps might help:
- Look at auctions that end at a weird timing that most likely not many people will bit on the bag
- Look out for misspelled designer names
- Ask the seller to perhaps lower the price
- Look for bags that not many people would like, but you would
- Search for bags that were a false purchase and the owner never wore it but want’s to get rid of it
- Look out for bags in your area so you perhaps won’t have to pay the shipping.

2. From a thrift store
My second tip and best tip is, to head over to thrift stores! Follow these steps:
- Go to a thrift store in wealthy area
- Be the first one in store
- Go directly to the bag section
- Hold on to you treasure find
- Go to multiple different thrift stores
- The charity ones are the best to catch designer items for literally nothing worth the original price
- Be open for old bag styles
By following these steps your chances to find a designer bag someday will increase dramatically. I have found bags like Hugo Boss for 20€, a Coach clutch for 25€, a Chanel clutch for 5€ and a Balenciaga clutch for 0,50€. Remember it’s always luck and timing. Nothing is guaranteed by going to a thrift store. But it’s such a fun experience.

3. From a consignment store

A consignment store sells items for a more expensive price, than a thrift store. Thats because the price will be split in half to the consignment store and the person, who gave it to the store. These store have authentic bags and you will not get scammed. But the prices how I said, can still be really high.

4. As a hand-me-down
The last way to get a beloved designer handbag is by getting it as a hand-me-down from family members or friends. Perhaps somebody in your family cleans out her closet and wants to get rid of an old handbag and gives it to you.

I’m happy that you read through the end and may consider purchasing a more sustainable and affortable bag.
